Roatan Island is about 40 miles long and is one of the largest of the Bay Islands. Surrounded by the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the largest barrier reef in the Caribbean Sea and second only in size to Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Roatan is home to an abundant array of marine life, truly a paradise for Roatan scuba divers and Roatan snorkelers. |
With an International Airport on the island (RTB), Roatan Island is an easy travel destination.
Throughout the year you can take flights from Houston (TACA, Continental), Atlanta (Delta) and Miami (TACA).
You can also fly via the mainland city of San Pedro Sula (SAP). It is then just a short flight or bus with the ferry over to Roatan.
